February Wellness | words from Kate
As I sat down to write the newsletter this week the iconic Beatle's chorus "All you need is Love, Love. Love is All you need!" kept flowing through my head. After a few attempts at writing something else, I realized these words were showing up because this is what I needed to write about. Love is truly all we need. When we love the unique amazing-ness of ourselves it is easier to love the unique amazing-ness of everyone in our lives. We need to remember that we are amazing, beautiful, and unique beings of light. We are gifts to this world. We are gifts to our family and friends. If we take the plural word "Loves" and rearrange the letters we get the word "Solve." I like to think that this means love solves all.Love is a solvent to all those things in our lives that need to soften, dissolve and release. Loving ourselves fully and completely is the most magnificent solvent of all. Next time you find yourself judging or criticizing yourself for something, take a moment and wrap yourself in a big bear hug of love and let the love flow.
Thank you for being you,
Kate

Kate's Kitchen | Pistachio Fatbread (that's right)
Interestingly enough, February 26 was International Pistachio Day! Who knew? People have been eating pistachios all over the world as early at 7,000 BC! In China, the pistachio referred to a the "happy nut" the crack in the shell always appears to be smiling. In India, pistachios are gifted as a symbol of love and good wishes. The sharing of pistachios in Brazil is considered good luck and seen as a way of showing endearment. And, last but not least, the small but mighty pistachio is used to drive away evil spirits by the cracking of its shells during the Korean holiday of "Daeboreum" or "Full Moon" Day is celebrated on February 24.
Whatever the pistachio means to you, it is also full of health benefits. This low calorie nut is protein rich and has a high amount of vitamin B12, antioxidants and fiber. This particular recipe is delicious with jam, lemon curd and or honey butter! In joy!

3 cups unsweetened coconut flakes

Intuition Building Activity | wisdom of animal cards
With a little bit of guidance, using animal medicine cards can be a great entry to tapping into your intuition. The medicine cards by Jamie Sams and David Carsonare a favorite of mine. Here are few suggestions on how to get started.
Think Of A Question: Think of a question. It can be as specific as you. Ask all the beings of light to protect and guide you so that you may pick the card that provides the highest and most optimum insight.
Picking A Card Through Sensation: I take the deck in my hands and I shuffle through them at least once so I touch each card. Then I usually pause a moment and ask my question again (internally or externally) and I feel for which card speaks to me. This can feel like a different sensation in my fingertips, such as a hot, cold or tingly sensation. Other times it feels a little bit like a void, and sometimes a card literally will jump out and land on the floor. This is then the card I pick. I have also learned if more then one card jumps out then they both are important.
What Stands Out?: When I pick a card and a read the accompanying text, there is usually a few words that jump out at me. These are the words that resonate the most with the insight I was looking for. I take those words and write them down somewhere I can see them. In addition to the insight I get from reading the write up, I also have learned to look at the card and see if anything in the picture pops out as that could also have meaning. Sometimes the card makes no sense at the time though I have discovered that often over time it does.
